Anyone can write "this tool is great." We wanted our reviews to mean something specific. So every AI tool on AIToolsDose is tested against the same nine criteria, scored consistently, and written for how Indians actually use these tools. Here's the full process.
The 9 Things We Test
1. India Pricing
Real cost in rupees, converted at current rates. We note whether Indian debit/credit cards work, whether UPI is supported, and any international transaction fees.
Weight: High2. Free Plan Limits
What you genuinely get for ₹0 — and exactly where the limits kick in. We expose fake "free trials" that need a card and expire in days.
Weight: High3. Hindi Support
We test each tool in Hindi — writing, translation, understanding, and output quality — instead of guessing. We're honest about where it breaks down.
Weight: High4. Mobile Experience
Most Indians are phone-first. We test the Android app and mobile site, not just the desktop version, and check performance on slower connections.
Weight: Medium5. Ease of Use
How quickly a complete beginner can get a useful result. Confusing onboarding and cluttered interfaces lose points.
Weight: Medium6. Practical Use Cases
How well it handles what Indians really use AI for — studying, freelancing, job applications, content, small business, exam prep.
Weight: High7. Value for Money
Is the paid plan actually worth the rupees for an Indian budget? We judge value in the Indian context, not the American one.
Weight: High8. Pros & Cons
An honest, specific list of real strengths and real drawbacks — no filler complaints, no hiding flaws that matter to Indian users.
Weight: Core9. Overall India Score
A single /5 rating that combines all factors above, weighted for what matters most to an Indian user.
Weight: FinalHow We Score
Each tool gets sub-scores (out of 10) on free plan, Hindi, mobile, value and speed, which roll up into a final India Rating out of 5. The score is weighted — pricing, free-plan usefulness, Hindi support, real use cases and value for money carry more weight than nice-to-haves, because those are what decide whether a tool is right for an Indian user.
| Rating | What it means |
| 4.5 – 5.0 | Excellent for India. We recommend it without hesitation. |
| 4.0 – 4.4 | Very good, with minor trade-offs worth knowing about. |
| 3.0 – 3.9 | Decent, but only right for specific needs or budgets. |
| Below 3.0 | We don't recommend it for most Indians — and we explain why. |
How We Test (The Process)
- We use the actual tool hands-on — free plan first, then paid where relevant.
- We run real India tasks: a Hindi email, an English cover letter, a study summary, a social caption, a design, a coding question — whatever fits the tool.
- We check official pricing pages at the time of writing and convert to rupees, noting payment methods.
- We test on both desktop and an Android phone.
- A human editor verifies every claim before publishing.
Keeping Reviews Current
AI tools change pricing and features constantly. We revisit and update reviews when we learn something has changed, and we welcome reader corrections. The "last updated" date on each review tells you how fresh it is.
